Multi-point engine and airframe preheat systems for piston and turbine aircraft, engineered to protect critical components, reduce cold-start wear, and deliver dependable cold-weather performance across fixed-wing and rotorcraft platforms.

Why Tanis?

Untitled-46

Piston Engine

Tanis multi-point piston preheat systems fully heat-soak the engine by warming the metal above the oil, keeping components above the dew point and preventing condensation, corrosion, and rust. Threaded heating elements in each cylinder head and heating pads on the engine case deliver uniform heat, reducing cold-start wear, shortening warm-up time, and protecting engine longevity in cold conditions.

Turbine Engine

Tanis turbine preheat systems improve safety and reliability by preheating engines, gearboxes, fluids, batteries, avionics, and cabin systems before takeoff. Routine use reduces thermal stress, shortens run-up time, lowers fuel and operating costs, and extends the life of critical components, helping operators maintain readiness in cold-weather operations.

Rotorcraft

Tanis rotorcraft preconditioning systems deliver direct heat to engines, driveline components, hydraulics, avionics, and batteries, ensuring reliable starts and rapid launches in all climates. Designed for continuous standby use, these systems reduce thermal stress, seal failures, and starter wear while extending component life for mission-critical rotorcraft operations.

From Our Clients

"I was fortunate to have a strong tailwind that assisted me in reaching the airport with a non-event landing. My mechanic said the engine failure problem was caused by lack of lubricating oil due to improper preheating. This failure happened to me back in the mid 1980s and I have installed Tanis heaters on each aircraft owned thereafter. I currently use the Tanis TAS 100 on my IO-360. I use this system from Fall to Spring. The Tanis heater is very economical to use, so I keep it plugged in 24/7. I now have peace of mind that my engine is properly heated and ready for operation."

Jerry Brown, Flying Adventures Magazine

"I have over 20 years of experience with Tanis engine heaters and have had 100% reliability with your equipment. Furthermore, I have not experienced any problems associated with cold weather operation and I strongly recommend to all aircraft owners that they consider using your products. During engine rebuild my mechanic insisted that I install a preheating system and recommended the Tanis brand. I followed his recommendation and have been extremely pleased with the Tanis heater."

"I trust my life to my engine, so I trust my engine to Tanis. https://erikedgrenairshows.com/sponsors"

Erik Edgren Airshows

"“When we ended up installing a Tanis system on our first aircraft, I was stunned. We have middle-of-the-summer temperatures when we start at -30°F. That to me is just incredible; it saves so much wear & tear. It’s been a huge plus for us.” Link to video Brian Barber of Polaris Industries Talks Aircraft Preheat in Minnesota"
